Kimolos

Kimolos is a small, quiet, and unspoiled volcanic island in the Western Cyclades, just a 15-minute ferry ride from Milos. Known for its raw natural beauty, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and traditional, laid-back charm, it is the perfect destination to escape crowded tourist hotspots.

Key Highlights

Chorio & The Castle: The island's only settlement features a picturesque Cycladic maze of white houses and the 13th-century Messa Kastro (interior castle) and 17th-century Exo Kastro (exterior).

Skiadi: A unique, gigantic stone "mushroom" formed by differential wind erosion—a rare geological monument.

Stunning Beaches: Famous for Prasa (white sand and the clearest waters), Aliki (pebbles and thermal springs), and Mavrospilia.

Polyaigos: The largest uninhabited island in the Aegean, easily accessed by boat from Kimolos. It is a protected sanctuary for the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) and rare birds.

Local Cuisine: Must-try traditional treats include Ladenia (a Greek "pizza" with tomato, onion, and olive oil), Tirenia (cheese pie), and Elenia (olive bread).
